At the IQS Library, we manage and update the repository by depositing:

Procedure for adding publications

At the IQS Library, we are responsible for managing the deposit of research staff publications in the institutional repository (DAU), provided that the following criteria are met:

  • At least one of the authors must have an IQS affiliation.
  • The publication must have a DOI or another assigned identifier.
  • It must be published in a specific volume or issue.
  1. Before starting the process, please check that the publication is not already in DAU.
  2. Fill in the relevant form and attach the correct version of the document:
  • If the publication is behind a paywall, we need the postprint version (accepted author manuscript).
  • If the publication is open access, we need the published version.

Form

En el Repositorio institucional DAU se publican en acceso abierto únicamente las versiones revisadas por pares: el accepted author manuscript (postprint) o la versión publicada. La versión que se puede depositar depende del tipo de acceso de la publicación final:

  • If the publication is restricted (i.e. requires payment or a subscription), the Accepted Author Manuscript (postprint) is deposited.
  • If the publication is Open Access, the Version of record is deposited.

Definitions

  • Preprint: The first version of the article submitted to the journal for review and consideration for acceptance, prior to the peer-review process.
  • Accepted Author Manuscript (AAM) or Postprint: This is the final version of the publication, incorporating all changes and corrections from the peer-review process, which the journal has finally agreed to publish. This document does not yet have an active DOI or copyright information. It is extremely important that, once the journal has accepted the article for publication, you keep a copy of this version in case it needs to be deposited. This is particularly important if the published version ends up being available only by subscription or for a paywall.
  • Version of record (VoR) or Published Version: The final version published on the journal’s website, featuring the publisher’s own layout, with a DOI and the article’s copyright information.

The rights and licences applicable to each publication depend on the version of the document and the conditions set by the publisher:

  • Open-access published version: if the article has been published in open access, the published version may be deposited, retaining the same rights and Creative Commons licence.
  • Restricted-access postprint version: this is deposited in accordance with the publisher’s criteria, which may include embargo periods or specific conditions regarding the use of Creative Commons licences.
