Guide: Request for Documents in Digital Format
Through Discovery, you can access a wide range of digital resources, such as journal articles and book chapters.
If you cannot find what you need in the IQS collection, you can expand your search and submit a request.
Please note that the Intellectual Property Law does not permit the digitisation or sending of entire journals or books. Therefore, in your request, you must provide the exact details of the article, chapter or section you require (title, author, pages, etc.).
You will receive the digital material via email within approximately 24 hours (subject to availability).
How does it work?
Sign in and search on Discovery
Request the document
Receive it by email or download it from ‘My Account’
How do I submit the request?
- Identifícate en Discovery URL con tus credenciales IQS.
- Busca por título o DOI del artículo/capítulo y comprueba si hay acceso al texto completo.
- En el apartado Ver online verás cómo acceder o descargar el documento (si está disponible).
- Sign in to the Discovery URL using your IQS credentials.
- Search by the title or DOI of the article or chapter and check whether the full text is available.
- In the View online section, you will see how to access or download the document (if available).
- If there are no results at the URL, click Expand search.
- In the Request from other libraries section, select Request.
- Accept the copyright statement and complete the process by clicking Submit.
- Si no obtienes resultados con la búsqueda ampliada, selecciona “No has encontrado lo que buscas? Pulsa aquí y PÍDELO“.
- Rellena el formulario con tanta información como tengas (título, autor/es, revista/libro, ISBN/ISSN, páginas, DOI…).
- En algunos casos, puede haber gastos de gestión y los plazos de entrega pueden ser superiores. Si aplica, te informaremos antes de iniciar el trámite.
- If you don’t find what you’re looking for using the advanced search, select Can’t find what you’re looking for? Click here and REQUEST IT.
- Fill in the form with as much information as possible (title, author(s), journal/book, ISBN/ISSN, page numbers, DOI, etc.).
- In some cases, there may be handling fees and delivery times may be longer. If applicable, we will inform you before processing your request.
Once the document is available, you will receive an email containing a direct download link.
You can also view the status of your requests and download the documents from My Account > My Requests.

What can I do via “My Account”?
Log in with your IQS username and you will be able to:
- Request/reserve available or borrowed items
- View your current and previous loans
- Check the status of your requests for items (physical and electronic)
- Renew your loans
- Download your electronic items
- Check whether you have any notices or fines
