Guide: AQU and ANECA Accreditations
AQU
The following are the accreditations offered by AQU Catalunya for the evaluation of university faculty. These are organized into two main categories:
- Faculty accreditations: These certify the minimum level of quality and academic experience required to qualify for university positions corresponding to the ranks of associate and full professors.
- Merit evaluation: This evaluates academic activity in the areas of research, teaching or administration.
Requirements
- Hold a doctoral degree.
- Provide proof of nine months of academic mobility exclusively during the postdoctoral training period (except for those who are exempt). To meet this requirement, applicants may submit multiple periods of mobility, each lasting at least one month.
- Provide proof of a minimum of four years of full-time research and teaching experience, or the equivalent in part-time experience. In general, a minimum of 30 ECTS credits or 300 hours of teaching will be required (except for those who are exempt).

Requirements
- Hold a doctoral degree.

- Provide proof of both a minimum professional track record and a minimum teaching record: ten years of full-time experience, or the equivalent in part-time experience. In general, a minimum of 140 ECTS credits or 1,400 hours of teaching experience will be required (except for those who are exempt).

Admission Requirements for Universitat Ramon Llull
- Hold a doctoral degree.
- Be affiliated with the University on a full-time or part-time basis, provided that the affiliation is equal to or greater than 50% of a full-time workload.
- In the case of healthcare professionals, faculty members from institutions that have an agreement with the University and who hold a position similar to that regulated in Article 105.1 of Law 14/1986, of April 25, the General Health Law, may submit a request for evaluation of their research activity.
- Minimum of one year of service at the University as of December 31 of the previous year.
- Be an active member of one of the research groups listed in the URL’s research group directory.

ANECA
ANECA offers the opportunity to obtain accreditation as an associate professor or full professor.
Requirements
- Hold a doctoral degree. Foreign doctoral degrees may be accepted if a declaration of equivalence has been obtained in accordance with the provisions of the second additional provision of Royal Decree 889/2022, dated October 18.
- Demonstrate that they have engaged in research or teaching activities—and, where applicable, knowledge transfer and exchange—for a cumulative period of at least nine months at universities or research centers other than the institution where the doctoral dissertation was submitted.

Requirements
Must previously hold the title of:a) Associate professor.
b) Permanent University Faculty Members.
c) Full Professors of University Schools.
d) Individuals who can demonstrate that they hold a doctoral degree and have held that degree for at least eight years, and who are in one of the following situations:
- Have demonstrated an outstanding track record in research, including
knowledge transfer and exchange, as evidenced by a positive evaluation report
for the position of Tenured University Lecturer or Permanent Faculty Member - Be a civil servant belonging to a research staff category or grade
for which a doctoral degree is required for appointment.
e) Faculty members at universities in other European Union member states who have attained a position comparable, at a minimum, to that of Tenured University Lecturer.
